A Journey Through Light and Spirit: My Solo Show at Centro Espacio Arte

My name is Annie Rios, and as Annie Abstracts, I explore the intricate relationship between light, human experience, and spirituality through my art. One of my most significant recent milestones came on September 25, 2025, when I had the incredible privilege of opening a solo show as part of an exclusive selection of young artists from across the Americas.

I was honored to be one of only ten emerging artists chosen for a prestigious exhibition organized by Centro Espacio Arte, a highly respected institution based in Panama. This exhibition wasn’t just local—it brought together voices from Panama, Cuba, Guatemala, and beyond, creating a rich dialogue of artistic expression across the region.

The Featured Work: Composition of a Refraction 1

My featured work in this show was "Composition of a Refraction 1," a two-meter piece focusing on the beauty and complexity of light refraction. Through this piece, I aimed to delve into the metaphor of light as a symbol of truth, spirituality, and the human heart’s structure. It’s a very personal exploration of how something as abstract and intangible as light can be a powerful reflection of reality.

The exhibition ran for two and a half months, gaining an enthusiastic response from art lovers, collectors, and critics alike. On August 25, 2025, a special event brought together many influential collectors and artists who engaged deeply with the entire collection. Being part of this specific project, called Malayerba, further amplified my reach and connected me to a vibrant community supporting young and visionary artists.

This experience affirmed my artistic journey and opened doors to exciting future opportunities. I feel fortunate to contribute to a broader conversation about art and life in our region and beyond.
